Varadarajan Krishna (Varad) is an accomplished executive, serial techpreneur, and angel investor with over 30 years of experience. He has been part of the startup community that has developed products and intellectual property ranging from embedded software, BPM, telecom, and cleantech. Varad is currently the managing director of Induct AS Asia & MENA, where he is engaged in building open innovation communities worldwide. He is also involved in several global startup programs, including the 100 Open Startups Movement, which connects startups, entrepreneurs, and scientists with the innovation strategy of large companies. Varad has been deeply involved with the highest funded IoT startup in the energy sector, WinAMR, where he helped build the end-to-end smart grids company from its inception to revenue stage. As one of the board of directors of WinAMR, he drives the overall strategy for growth of the company. He has also been involved in various startup initiatives in India and worldwide as a mentor and jury, giving back to the global entrepreneurial ecosystem. Varad's specialties include innovation, research, R&D, intellectual property, IP valuation, sustainable innovation models, patents, open innovation, open startups, and corporate innovation strategies. He holds a bachelor's degree in electronics and communications engineering and a postgraduate degree in systems management. Currently, Varad is a cofounder and managing partner of startup360 accelerator. He has also held key positions in other companies, including cofounder of 100 Open Startups and managing director of Induct AS India MENA. He also holds a bachelor's degree from Anna University and attended Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai.
